Supplies and Begging
Every time you move, your crew consumes a small portion of your ship's supplies. You need to
make sure you don't run out of supplies at sea, or your crew will die and you'll be returned
to your home port. You won't lose your ship or gold, but you will lose any cargo that was
on your ship. You might also lose some experience, so make sure to always buy supplies before
you leave port! You can view your crew and supplies in the bottom left of the screen:
 Every 5 crew on your ship will consume 1 barrel of supplies per turn. So in the above image, every move would cost 12 supplies (60 divided by 5).
Supplies are cheaper at allied ports, so try to stock up at friendly ports when you can.
If you ever find yourself out of gold to purchase supplies, you can beg for help.
You shouldn't do this too frequently though, or word will get out!
